Portfolio Manager Thematic Equities
Dr Daniel Zimmerer has been working as a portfolio manager and analyst at Zürcher Kantonalbank since 2020. As of April 2024, he has shared responsibility for the Swisscanto (LU) Equity Fund Sustainable Climate.
His focus is on clean tech within the industrial, technology, and utilities sectors. In this role, he conducts in-depth analyses of global investment flows and sustainable business models, while also addressing political climate protection programmes.
Previously, Daniel Zimmerer worked for five years as a Research Associate at the School of Finance at the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and spent three years in Private Banking and Wealth Management at the Kaiser Partner Group in Liechtenstein. Between 2017 and 2020, he completed his doctorate at the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and undertook a research stay at Maastricht University (School of Business and Economics). His research focused on the relationship between corporate sustainability performance, financial performance, and risk. The results of his research have been published in renowned academic journals. Daniel Zimmerer also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Accounting and Finance from the University of St. Gallen (HSG). Additionally, he is certified as an EFFAS Certified ESG Analyst (CESGA).
